The “Frakta” or “Bag for Life” project and began in August 2017 on the way to the Street London photography festival when I made an off-the-cuff photo on Cheshire Street. This started a year of hunting for, and collecting Ikea bags. I have found Ikea bags in almost every city and country I have visited since the project began. I now have over 350 photos in my collection, adding new views of the bright blue bag every week. Living in a city where we talk about cultural diversity yet more often than not live in separate communities, the Ikea bag is used by young and old, student and worker, rich and poor, British born citizen and immigrant alike.
